The newly opened Gallery will be showcasing material from the University of Sussex’s Heritage Collections during Welcome Week. This includes items from our archives at The Keep and some of the artworks, documents and ephemera held in the Library.
The exhibition will be open in the Library Gallery, Monday 22 September to Friday 26 September 10.30am-4.30pm and Monday 29 September to Friday 3 October 11am-3pm
Our Work in Progress exhibition is an initial experiment in reworking old facilities for new purposes. The cases in this gallery were originally designed in the 1960s for displaying Chinese ceramics.
How can we re-use these for displaying works on paper? Can we use digital interpretation to replace traditional museum labels?
This exhibition is also the start of a conversation. How can we best use this space to teach students new skills and show off their work? What items in our Heritage Collections do people want to see?
