Residential Life at Sussex offers you more than just a place to study and sleep. We offer programmes to help you grow in all aspects of life. This year our online programme is open to all Sussex students living near or far, to help you stay connected.

You can join in with:

  • Res Life Support – peer guidance to support you navigating university
  • Res Life Connect – relaxing activities to connect you with new friends
  • Res Life Educate – educational talks to prepare you for life.

Our programme is led by a fantastic group of student staff, the Res Life Connectors, who are dedicated to making the programme by students and for students. They provide peer support and capture your needs and interests. You can get involved in helping us design the programme by voting on our Instagram, @reslifesussex. We also collaborate with other Student Experience teams, the Students’ Union and external organisations.

In October we’re collaborating with the Buddy Scheme and International Student Support. Join us for the Adulting 101 series, which includes:

This month we’re also bringing you fun games and activities to help you get to know new people and Sussex:

Plus, Res Life is teaming up with Inside Out to bring you talks about mental health. You can learn evidence-based techniques with Practical Ways To Look After Your Mental Health, and strategies for Managing Your Anxiety & Building Your Confidence as you embrace so many new experiences at university.

As part of Black History Month, we’ll examine the impacts of race, ethnicity and culture on mental wellbeing at Let’s Talk: Black Mental Health. We’ll also have a session focused on Intersectionality and Having Difficult Conversations.

You can see our calendar of October events [PDF, 614KB] and information about our online drop-ins [PDF, 53KB].

On the Things to do pages you can find these and more suggestions of activities you can do from home to stay connected and entertained.
