As the only higher education institution with a first of its kind dedicated research centre focused on kindness, the Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness is proud to launch a week-long celebration across our community.
From students and staff to our wider network, Kindness Week offers something for everyone. We are collaborating with colleagues across campus to mark World Kindness Day on 13 November with a series of uplifting and inclusive activities. These events invite us all to reflect, connect, and take meaningful action through kindness.
What’s happening?
From 10–14 November join the Student Engagement and Enhancement Team for:
Kind Ripples – Pass It On
Donate to the Hummingbird Project and help provide winter gifts for young refugees in Brighton.
Accepted items include:
- Food: Dried fruit/seeds, chocolate, cereal bars
- Self-care (unopened): Soap, moisturiser, shampoo
- Warm clothing (new): Winter hats, warm socks (size 7+), gloves (M/L)
- Small gifts: Notebooks, pens/pencils
Donation tables available all week at the Student Centre.
Write for a cause
Student Centre Atrium (drop-in)
- Tuesday 11 November, 11am–1pm
- Wednesday 13 November, 12 midday-2pm
- Amnesty International’s Write for Rights Campaign: Write letters to political prisoners around the world.
- Send a card to another student to brighten their winter break!
